Cynthia Whitten

Cindy Whitten is a native of Albertville and joins United Doctors Medical Center with 40+ years of HealthCare experience. She Graduated Albertville High School, attended Snead State Jr. College and then Graduated with her Baccalaureate in Nursing from The University of Alabama, Huntsville. Cindy then received her Master's Degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham with dual roles; Nurse Practitioner and Community Health Nurse Specialist.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Cindy has worked and gained experience in many specialty areas such as: Family Medicine Women's Health, Orthopedic Trauma, Emergency Medicine, Nephrology, Correctional Care and as a Hospitalist. Cindy also served on the Faculties of UAH, The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, USA and The Holy Name of Jesus Hospital and School of Nursing. She has also served as a legal consultant on health care issues to several Law firms and agencies in Alabama.
During her career, she was initiated into the first Class of the Capstone College of Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau. She has received other honors in her career and these include: Outstanding Faculty at USA College of Nursing, Outstanding Young Career Woman, Albertville, ASNA Outstanding Nurse Practitioner, Special Recognition Award, Jackson Co Rural Health and UAH Alumnus of Achievement.
Cindy has served as Treasurer, President-Elect and President of the Alabama State Nurses Association. During her time as President, she was a member of a National Delegation of Nurses, invited to the White House, to meet with then First Lady Hillary Clinton. The agenda was to discuss the needs of Health Care, especially in Rural Areas with Mrs. Clinton and her Team.
Cindy and her husband Mike live in Albertville and attend the First Baptist Church. They serve as part of the Security Team and as group leaders in their Church. They enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as traveling. They enjoy baseball season and their two favorite teams are the Bananas and Braves, both of New Market, where their grandchildren ages 6 and 4 play the most exciting games.
Cindy is thrilled to be able to return home to serve the Community in the home town she loves. My belief is that all people deserve Quality Health Care and the patient must agree with their health plan in order to achieve positive outcomes. I look forward to working with the talented Team here at United Doctors and providing quality care to all patients.
